WRT why the Big XII never expanded into the state of Florida

here are a couple potential reasons why it never happened.

1. No "desirable" schools after UF, FSU, and Miami.
2. The impact the FL schools would have on travel cost for non-revenue sports.
3. The Big XII would have had trouble coming up with divisions (either North-South or East-West) that made sense and still protected everyone's import "rivals."
4. No FL school was interested in being on an island in the Big XII.
5 (connected to 4). The Big XII wasn't interested in adding more travel friendly schools to get the FL candidate(s) to join the conference.
