It may be coming depending on court cases.


There is a lot of pressure on schools from different sources to fairly compensate players in light of the huge money involved in college football. And the increasing demands on players (more games) as well as health risks add to the pressure.

To me, this is what the alliance is really about. As an example, the SEC would cut as many sports as title9 allows to protect high level football if they are pressured/forced to pay players. Alliance conferences are looking for ways to avoid all of that if they can.
