I think the odds of ESPN getting exclusive CFP are slim at this point


I agree that they probably thought they were going to get it all in one large bid.

But my take on the Alliance is that they might try to break up the CFP contract so that it has to use multiple media partners. Ultimately I think expansion is 99% guaranteed, but the details will change from what is in the current proposal. The Alliance will guarantee that every conference is guaranteed a spot. And the G5 is so close to getting a seat at the table that they will not want to give that up. So expansion almost has to happen at this point.
