Wildcard. Some just never find that third pitch they need to be an effective starter (or second pitch to be a reliever). Others flame out because of arm problems.

I’m sure somebody has stats to support or refute this, but it seems pitchers are harder to project than position players.

Three or four years ago, the Braves were projected to have the best set of arms in the minors and it wasn’t close. But few have panned out. Fried and Anderson have performed as expected. But Newcomb, Folty, the Kyles, Kolby Allard, Gohara, etc. have all disappointed.

Draft the position players and trade them as necessary for proven pitching. That, I believe, is the best approach.
