What’s wrong with pods?

Regional matchups and rivalries are important. Conferences are getting ridiculously large.

What is the holdup with going to pods? Play the pod teams every year, rotate others. Where the alliance could come in is use the tier system that has been mentioned. Use two factors, previous year performance and current year performance.

Early season inter-alliance matchups between teams that performed similarly the previous year.

Late season inter-alliance matchups basically become an alliance bracket between the top four(?) teams in the alliance that year. The top teams from BIG ACC PAC respectively plus one, though may have to bump down to next teams if you’re just re creating matchups that had been played earlier in the season.

Hold individual BIG ACC PAC conf championship games subsequently.
