Big12(8) outmaneuvers ACC and invites everyone south of WVU except for Wake (L'ville, uva, VT, NCSU, UNC, Duke, Clemson, GT, FSU, Miami) to join their current 8 and split into 2 9 team divisions for football (WVU, VT, uva, L'ville, and the 4 Carolina schools in one, GT, Miami and FSU join the 7 western Big12(8) schools in the south/west)

Wake, Pitt, BC, Cuse and ND can fend for themselves, merge back with AAC for all I care...

That conference would be a solid bball league, arguably the best, and for football it would be top heavy, but with better brands than ACC or Big8 remnants alone, and it would span 2 time zones for TV while adding Texas to the media bundle

It would be a pretty solid league with 2 distinct football divisions and a cohesive bball league

For football, only the 8 division games would count in standings, and any cross division games would be optional and count as OOC

Basketball would play all 17 league opponents once, 1 rival and 2 rotating teams home and home

Olympic sports could play mostly regional until league championships

Florida teams traveling to TX, OK and KS is no different than VA and PA and NY, so it's net neutral for them

GT is probably the big loser (besides ND losing their comfy bed), but oh well
