Thanks, that was buried deep in that article. I never would have found it.

From the way the article reads, I couldn't tell if UCLA and USC not signing the GoR scuttled the whole thing or if the remaining 10 schools committed their right to the conference.

I would think they didn't because not having UCLA and USC signed on was enough to end any long term investment in the conference. So it defeated the purpose.
