Nothing to do with VT, but I need to update something I typed a couple of days ago, in the discussion of Olympic eligibility requirements: "My Mexican friends... aren't at all bothered by all this," referring to almost the entire team being born in the US.
The situation has changed. A Mexico female boxer discovered several Mexican softball uniforms in a trash bin, and went public with it. A lot of people were shocked by this, including Mexico's softball federation, which said that the women who did this wouldn't be invited back when qualification starts for the 2028 Olympics.
I say, good. There's sufficient time for Mexico to develop more Mexican-born talent.
