With pay to play rules now permitted it makes sense. New alignments will

will form or the existing leagues will become too top-heavy between the big donor schools and the lesser donor schools. The problem is the ACC has too many low to medium donor schools that can not afford to pay players at the same level as the SEC. If Clemson and Florida State value their product they may soon migrate an SEC Super League. What is left in ACC will not be able to compete because they will not have funds to pay the perceived superstar athletes. Tech may need to kiss elite college football goodbye if they are not a Top 20 revenue generating school.

If the rest of the teams left were smart they would create their own division championship and make the recruits sign a player revenue-sharing plan that forgoes outside endorsements and then refuse to play the Super League(s). The TV audience may eventually get wary of watching the same teams play each other over and over and stop watching. A league-wide player revenue sharing plan is probably the only thing that may permit the Top 65 schools to stay somewhat relevant and reasonably competitive. The superstar recruits will be signing bullshit contracts offered by donors and greed and ego will inevitably win.

Tech messed up when the opportunity to jump to the SEC was available. The only chance now to stay relevant is to try and get into another Super League with Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan, FSU, and Clemson Souther Cal that agrees to a player revenue-sharing plan. If you are BC, Wake Forest, Duke, Syracuse it is going to suck. The weakest in P5s are going to be weeded out. You really need about 32 to 40 competitive schools to maintain interest and diversity.
