A Trip Down Memory Lane: Keely named Player of Year in 2017
Keely Rochard was named Virginia High School League 3A softball Player of the Year in 2017 after leading Warhill to two consecutive Group 3A softball state championships. Both her team and her were a perfect 26-0 in 2017 as Keely pitched VERY SINGLE INNING for Warhill, striking out 364 batters, "just a shade below two per inning."
She allowed just 4 earned runs in those 26 games and threw 19 shutouts.
She also may have pitched the greatest state softball tournament final of all time, winning a 1-0, 18 inning classic over Brookville that lasted over 4 hours in 90 degree heat.
In her case, past performance may have predicted future results.
Nice job, Keely.
Thanks for becoming a Hokie!
