Nothing was ever said.....

that the NCAA did not follow the rules they set. Nor was it said NCSU does not bear the responsibility and consequences of their choices. What was questioned was the logic of the rules and decisionmaking processes. Specifically, when a known situation exists and one game is allowed to proceed while less than 24hrs later the same game/teams are no contested. Was it any more or less responsible to have allowed the first game to take place? The other question is where is the consistency in testing players yet having no reservations about admitting fans without even so much as a nod to protocols? Fans sitting elbow to elbow untested are less of a risk than players participating in more wide open spaces?

You MIGHT be right that the NCAA is not liable to the paying public, however, I feel certain there are more than a few lawyers who would be willing to test those limits. It stinks because at least some kids are going to be denied the chance to compete for a championship through no fault of their own and it does not matter whether the actual fault lies with their teammates, their coaches or other administrators. Bad decision making and flawed processes do not necessarily imply anything nefarious but, they do create questions surrounding the competence of the parties in charge.
