Our Poppin’ It Challenge is coming to a close. And like the Hokies softball season, WHAT A RUN IT HAS BEEN!!!

To say that "Poppin It" was successful would be a tremendous understatement. The TSL family raised a grand total of $18,144 for Hokies Softball. And that is only counting the checks that were sent to me (along with PayPal and Venmo). Unfortunately, we do not have an accounting of any dollars that were sent directly to the Hokie Club site. Still, that number alone is incredible. You folks are simply amazing!!!

And on a personal note, I sincerely appreciate the kind notes that many of you included with your checks. I have enjoyed every minute of this season. Thank you.

On behalf of our ladies, I wanted to thank you and our Hokie faithful for supporting us this season. My expectations were far exceeded during our softball auction this spring and they’ve be blown out of the water with the “Poppin It Challenge.”

It was hard for me to process getting checks for $18,000 today. I’ve said it a million times but $18,000 goes a TREMENDOUSLY long way for a softball program. We’re going to need these resources as we continue to compete against the best softball teams in the country.

I heard from a lot of “nontraditional” Hokie softball fans during our run, many who had never watched softball before. Hopefully they liked the brand of softball we play and how our ladies represent VT.

Please pass along to all Virginia Tech fans that we are grateful for their support and we hope to make them proud in the years to come. GO HOKIES!
