With this hire specifically its important to know the context...


There will be a new AD coming to town in August. Coach K wants to hand pick his own successor to keep it in the "Lets praise Coach K" family.

Theres a bigger coincidence that 1 plus 1 equals 2 than this getting announced just before a new AD takes the office.

It is very likely that this has been in the works for some time and its even possible the new AD was chosen specifically with this change of power plan in mind.

The new AD will have her legacy tied to this hire however. Going to be tough if right off the bat your flagship program takes big dip in production. They will also be hiring a new football coach in her time as well. So either she was picked because she agreed to this structure or she is absolutely being thrown to the wolves.

She was announced a week ago. Coach K announced his step down today. Not a coincidence to be heard for miles.
