Yes......for sure, and this was not a VT specific post....it was more of a


reflection to the ACC lack of foresight and the concern it created in the coaching ranks. The other leagues got it and it paid off for them in a big way. It most certainly cost Pitt (who should have gotten in anyways), and Louisville (who should have also gotten in). It probably cost us and Clemson. It probably helped UVA, hence the NET loss of 3 bids. The league knows what a 36 game cannibalization did. That is why others did NOT take that route. Plus the ACC has enough good other baseball schools in its footprint to play competitive non conference games. It didn't need to play those 36 games. The league needs to get better at navigating the competitive landscape on a national level on several fronts. Everyone plays for keeps. It also probably kept ND from getting a top 8 national seed. It would have been hard to say they didn't deserve it with the most teams in the NCAA field.......but hopefully teams will perform well in the tournament.
