First, I send an e-mail to UCLA requesting media credentials with very low expectations. But after I assure them I've been vaccinated (which I have), they approve my request. Cool. Step 1 Done.

Then, I have to check on getting some more of my prescription drugs since I hadn't planned on an extended vacation. I go into the CVS down the street and the pharmacy tech notices my VT shirt and says "so you're going to UCLA?" Turns out she is an ASU season ticket holder for softball and assures me that they can take care of me. Step 2 check.

Then it's the call to the airline - this is going to be fun, right? Well after a FOUR HOUR WAIT, I finally get to speak with a human being, and lo and behold, it turns out that the reservation person on the other end IS A HOKIE!!!! What are the chances???

She not only refunds my original return flight, but volunteers to help me find a new flight and when I tell her I can handle that myself online, so she can get to other customers, she responds "you waited - they can wait so I can make sure my Hokie friend is taken care of. She then checks and checks and checks and finds us a really good deal on a return flight to Roanoke. Step 3 check.

Then one of our awesome TSL posters reaches on on e-mail with all kinds of helpful travel tips for Los Angeles. Step 4 check.

Oh, and most importantly of all, I had 3 different TSL posters reach out on e-mail today who weren't "officially" in the Poppin' It Challenge" but are nevertheless sending generous donations to the softball program. Wow. Just wow. TSL rocks!
