Wondering if being sent to Tempe badly hurts softball’s budget?

Given that they play on Thursday afternoon (local time) and need to acclimate to the time change, I’m guessing they are headed out there today and further guessing it involves a charter flight.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things, including coaching salaries, all the other (mostly bus) travel we had to do all season, and all the other operating expenses, a round trip charter flight to AZ might not crush the budget. But it probably doesn’t help. Good thing folks were generous with the auction that Chip set up. Those dollars may come in very handy here.

Wondering if we get a share of tv revenues generated by the softball tourney or if it gets split evenly among all teams? Sure would be nice to get a boost from this, even if a lot of it goes to cover travel. I know in the past the football team has lost money going to bowl games but that’s due to having a much larger travel party and having to eat a bunch of unsold tickets.
