I guess in retrospect, when we saw them as a 2 seed (and apparently a low 2 seed at that), that should’ve been our indication that VT was not going to be a host. Cause when I saw Arizona State as the 15 seed, I thought we had it (“no way they would send us all the way out to Tempe!”). Wrong. Forgot about Washington. Although we did beat Clemson head to head 2 out of 3 and they did have the weakest schedule. I mean, we went 6-4 against the top of the conference, including 2-1 against champion Duke, and have the best pitcher in the conference, you could make the argument there’s not a ton of separation between these top 4 ACC teams.
