Moving to a new area - cable tv and home intergration questions/suggestions

We are moving houses to Gainesville FL and have a change to choose a different internet/cable company. We have had Comcast (never really had a problem) and ATT (not a fan but they do ok I guess until there is a problem).

Our community doesn't have Comcast so we have a choice of ATT or COX (or something called viasat which will be internet only). Also, direct tv and dish as an option.

Any have any strong things to say about COX?

Also, we are looking to get a nest or ring and other types of home systems put in. I will be doing most or all of it and my wife will be using it almost all the time as I will be travelling for work a lot. Anyone have any recommendations? She only uses iphones and doesn't have a gmail account (though maybe for home integration stuff I can set one up separate for her). We want a doorbell camera, a few other outside in the yard and a few in the kitchen, garage, etc... accessible remotely via phone or computer.

any thoughts?

thanks.
