Plus it’s been since 2015 the Hokies were sent to Knoxville. Figure Lexington is out because of 2019. The one wildcard could be if Michigan gets a gift host spot and we could be sent there. I would think they would send the 4 non-host schools to teams with a double digit seed (10 or higher). Unless geography or conference affiliation gets in the way.

I could see a scenario where seeded FSU and Clemson are matched up in Supers (8v9 or 7v10), depending on how much love the committee gives Clemson for their run this year vs a weaker schedule. Hard to think Clemson could be seeded that high though with their SOS. You figure half the top 8 seeds are already set with OU, UCLA, Bama and FL.

The committee has no problem matching up conference foes in Supers, typically to limit the SEC and PAC 12’s participation in the WCWS. Also they’ve been known to slide a teams seeding up or down for geography and/or super regional match ups.

The other note, this thing is seeded all the way through, so even this Sunday we’ll be able to see what the potential WCWS first day matchups are if seeds hold. 1v8, 2v7, etc. We could see an all SEC Supers and then that team plays another SEC team at the WCWS.
