After this weekend's WLAX playoff games, Whit might be able...
to begin the interviewing process. I wouldn't be surprised to hear a new hire as early as late next week. There are some good possibilities in the region and a few with Tech connections. Playing in the NCAA's best women's lacrosse conference should make this opening attractive. Plus the WLAX program is in much better shape now than when John Sung first took it over 5 years ago. I'm wondering if Whit will go all out and hire a bigger name this time around. I doubt Tech can steal Tech grad Christine Halfpenny from Notre Dame or get JMU's Shelley Klaes to move up to the highest level, the ACC. Those would be grand slam hires. Whit will probably go after head coaches from successful programs like Richmond, Jacksonville, Temple, Drexel, and High Point.
