but if it were ONLY about money, Duke wouldn't suck at wrestling, and Clemson wouldn't suck at XC or have cut their mens T&F programs (yes they did reinstate). You have to choose where you invest. Very few have national level success across the board.

Clemson's success at softball doesn't surprise me given their cultural and geographical fit. It's more surprising they didn't have softball prior to last year.

Will we ever be Stanford, Texas, UF? No. We have a handful of perennial conference contenders and NCAA qualifying teams. Next step is to build enduring national contenders.

Maybe others don't agree or maybe we're saying the same thing. Just my $.02. But looking at what we have in place with so little money comparatively, I'm very excited for the next chapter as we realize Reach for Excellence.
