Money and more money


Duke and Clemson, spending 50 to 60 million dollars or so, has put the ACC, besides our bottom feeders, in the top 3 of Softball conferences. Better than the Big 10, absolutely, Big 12? ( only 7 teams ) pretty much, as good as Pac 12 ( 9 teams) maybe. SEC, No way. Time will tell if Duke and Clemson pitching can hold up, it’s definitely not their hitters and team depth, but that’s coming. The next “ big time” coaching job will prob be filled out of our conference, thanks to Duke and Clemson. Rittman is pretty much set at Clemson and will command and receive a hefty salary premium there. If I was Marissa Young ( New shiny toy) l’D jump in a second to make 300 k, most likely to an SEC team. If Tech Softball wins The Regional, good chance our coach will be just as shiny. Hate to see that happen, but there’s no money in Blacksburg. And it’s all about the money......
