Not too long after I bought here, Virginia Beach started jacking the...


...assessed value of homes 20-25% per year for several years to drive up their tax revenue. The assessed value of my house doubled fairly quickly. I remember when there was a downturn in the economy and VB decreased the assessed value of the house, but increased the assessed value of the property so they wouldn't lose any tax revenue.

Thus is the way of government.
