NPR Show in LA when I lived there did a bit on how it was more expensive


to rent a car in LA for 4 days than it was to ship a shipping container from Hong Kong to Long Beach.

That was a in 2015. When you have/had freight options that cheap and that robust, then you are going to find the cheapest labor worldwide. Much of it unethical.
