Panic buying made a real problem worse faster.

Like most industries, fuel companies were already struggling to keep all stations full due to the economic recovery and not having enough driver's staffed to balance out the increasing demand. My job has been a challenge the last 1.5 months.

Now we are on day 6 of a pipeline that delivers 105 million gallons a day being shut down. As mentioned above, once the pipeline is turned back on the fuel won't instantly teleport from the Gulf Coast to the east coast. It typically takes 15 days or so for the fuel to make it up here. And that's when the line is full. The line is going to be empty and moving at a much slower rate until its full again and there's enough to push it through.

Whatever does finally come in is going to get depleted fast to fill the empty tanks at stations.

If we are back up and running this week as projected, fuel should be available to the general public with less challenges in a 2 weeks or so.

But my job of keep the majority of my stations full will remain difficult probably into July.
