This is a temperament issue. I know a lot of successful business people
who lack operational and administrative skills - doctors for instance. They hire the right people to manage those things and focus on what they do best, be it business development, treatment, facilitation, or whatever.
One book that lays it out really well is 'The E-Myth Revisited.' You might want to give him a copy of that and sit on his chest until he's done reading it.
