He was going up the steps and then something happened. He ended up at the bottom of the steps unresponsive, the EMT had my SIL do chest compressions and there was a lot of blood. It appears he had an aneurysm but the M.E. is doing an autopsy to be sure.

He had just bought a car two days earlier. He had no life insurance. My SIL is faced with not only the shock of the death but figuring out how she's going to endure the hardships to come.

Just before we got the call we were out with friends, discussing the need to plan your funeral etc. early, to avoid just this kind of situation. Chillingly ironic.
