The NHL chooses not to control Wilson, and Caps management certainly have no issues with his signature cheap-shots that have produced significant injuries for multiple opponents. The best way to deal with Wilson is probably eye for an eye cheap shots in line with the ones Wilson unleashes, most of which Wilson delivered from behind where players can't see them coming. That is the approach Boston took after Wilson's cheap shot injured Carlo. If every Caps opponent adopted that strategy we'd see the end of the Wilson problem much sooner and probably before Wilson injures several more players.
