You are correct, if your reason for subscribing is "information," as in "so-and-so is going to commit today" or "Darryl Tapp has a job offer from the 49ers," then it's not worth it. Because information always hits the public domain shortly after it hits a message board.

We do, however, have plenty of subscribers who subscribe just for the content, and who never visit the message boards. (You can tell, haha.)

If you're subscribing just for the information you can get from the message boards ... I think there's some value there, some times more than other times.

The whole "good morning" and "here's what to celebrate today" and "what are we going to bitch about today" threads ... some people love that stuff and it makes them feel at home, other people think it's frivolous crap. But I always say this: If you don't like that kind of stuff, the first thing you should do when you load the boards is click/touch "Collapse threads" and that condenses all that stuff down into one line that you can quickly scroll by.
