Yup. When I played , opposing fan bases sometimes fed our will/energy

It's not the same as basketball - where heckling can cause a lack of focus and missed shots/freethrows. When the pitch is coming or you're in motion, you'll block out all external noise so any negativity you hear between pitches just motivates you to do your best.

BTW - I didn't play for VT, but played organized ball til I was in my early 20's
