One has nothing to do with the other
I had always (2003-12) thought the odds of ND joining the ACC (or somewhere like the Big East or Big 12) as a partial member was more likely than ND joining the Big Ten in full.
Did you think in 2010 that ND would still be independent in 2021?
Did you think in 2003 that Maryland would ditch the ACC for the Big Ten ?
Did you think that 2020 would change "hearts and minds" at ND about ACC football membership versus independence?
Those are separate events, at any rate, and unrelated to what Texas does in 2025.
I actually think that the chances of ND ending up a full member of the Big Ten are greater than it being a full member of the ACC, unfortunately.
(If the playoffs expand, ND will never join any conference for football)
I think the "Texas to the Big Ten" or "Texas to the ACC" ideas are just message board fantasies.
Texas is more likely to remain in the Big 12 (control)or join the SEC (money, culture, less travel) than the other two options.
We shall see in about 4 years.
Take care.
