Ok, don't know the family & Pete prob didn't
literally "flip her" as that would be a recruiting violation but what does this sentence even mean?
" Maddie found herself without a landing spot after she committed to Washington and reached out to VT and she subsequently visited VT and ended up here."
She had a landing spot all right, on UW's roster. Are you saying they decommitted her? She may have decommitted herself but probably would have lined up a new school before doing so. The UW coach would be the one with the bad press if they decommitted her in her senior year so I doubt that happened. If Pete told Knight he had "more players on the roster than he was comfortable with" (as reported in linked article) how did he manage to make room for Banks who would have also come with out of state financial aid?
Even if the two events, Knight's decommit and Banks addition have nothing to do with each other why couldn't Pete tell Knight sooner rather than waiting until the summer travel season was over prior to her senior year of HS?
If it looks, smells and quacks like a duck then that's very likely what it is. At some point the perception of what happened, which is what it is outside of this board, is more relevant to VTSB future recruits than the reality.
