You’re missing the point. If there are 16 teams playing for 8 spots


Let’s say in conference title games of the P5 leagues that’s at least 10 teams plus a few G5 teams whose games are meaningful all the way through conference championships. They’ll be talked about nationally much more instead of just OU, Clemson, OSU, Bama, UGA, LSU.

More than double the current number of teams in the CFP discussions will get exposure and recognition. Recruiting will open up more as more and more teams are one or two wins away. All teams in contention for division titles will be relevant in the National conversation much later into the season than they are now
