That mentality lends to donation stoppage, throwing in the towel, Beamer this that blah blah. Quite frankly (ha) his and Bud's longevity contributed to the problems we are in now. Other peer programs have been cycling through head coaches and staffs for decades while we were content with Frankie's boys. And a flat rate of HC members and donations through all that success and some darn well timed luck which @bourbonstreet has alluded to for a long time. The RFE plan launch is actually 10+ years overdue. In many peer programs, launches like this are a regular thing, it's part of their business and continuous improvement. You know this as I've shared a bunch of examples over the last two years. Reach For Excellence should now become the standard for VT Ath Dept planning and announcing endeavors on this scale; make it an every 5 or 6 year cycle to use Virginia's 6 Year Planning cycle as an example. Use it to continue building engagement with alumni, fans, donors, former players, future players, increasing the VT brand nationally, etc...Again, IMO, VT is still learning how and what it takes to be a P5 big boy or player or dare I say Champion. I'm excited and I hope it grabs more of Hokie Nation! I think it would be cool if VT combined and showed the Academic new buildings and plans along with this RFE Athletics endeavor; show how both are building for the future and each has positive affects on the other.
