I truly hope you reconsider as well, you add a lot to the this board
and I really enjoy hearing different perspectives.
but I will also say I've learned over many years that if a bad scenario has happened dozens of times the first place you look is what the common denominator is doing (definitely NOT you personally) in the scenarios. Doesn't mean that denominator is evil, always wrong, etc. but something about the denominator almost always plays a big part.
It's not anger, it is the frustration with the air of unwarranted superiority (unrelated to points on a scoreboard) that is systemic in much of ND's culture that causes a lot of the anti ND attitude. ND is no longer the only game being broadcast on Saturdays to a majority of the country the way it was when many of their older supporters were growing up.
I'd prefer that ND be a full member as unity is typically better for groups, but I'm okay with mutually beneficial scenarios agreed to by all parties. I'm not okay with the expectations of special treatment - just because.
I've attended all the VT-ND football games. Met some really nice fans, particularly everyday folk around ND's campus during pregame activities. But I was (un)fortunate to have the seats below for the most recent game and the folks there were some of the most arrogant fans I've encountered - not WVU mean or Uva rival cousin Eddie type digs - just unspoken condescension that I was even allowed to be in that area.
Again, I really do hope you continue to visit and contribute goldendomer.
