Pretty much all sports growth ends up looking logarithmic in nature, or you might call it the law of diminishing returns. So if a sports program is down in the dumps, it doesn't take nearly as much effort to move them to being respectable as it takes to move the respectable program to a championship caliber.

Somewhere further out on this graph, at probably like 4X or more, is the level of input required to get to like, Alabama level dynasty of success
