No joke. My BIL and SIL in LA got $100k over their asking price

Apparently at least in Los Angeles they have also resorted back to the letter writing aspect, where potential buyers write cover letters to attach to their offers in hopes of persuading the sellers to fo with their offer instead of a higher one.
