I think he's a piece...

Ive said all along that for a school like VT to compete for championships they need to be the most versatile. VT will not line up against everyone and simply out-basketball them. Theyre going to recruit, at best, in the 60-120 range and fill in the gaps with good fits to the system.

So this move helps with that versatility. I dont think he starts day 1. I dont see him as an upgrade over either Aluma or Mutts, but he DOES make VT more versatile. I am hopeful he can help prepare Ojiako in some parts of the game as well, as that will only further cement VTs versatility against bigger teams.

I wouldnt view this as a Zach Leday type of add, or even a Justyn Mutts type add. He is simply another weapon to help VT when they are playing a team that would otherwise give them trouble.

If VT had Durr against UNC, I think they probably win that game. If VT started and played Durr a lot against Villanova, they probably lose that game. It just about matchups. He is a piece to the puzzle, not a wild card.
