I agree this year was odd for me too. I guess because the entire

field was played in 1 state with a limited number of fans. When the NCAA Tournament switches back to having 4 regions, then things may be forced to change partially back to old format because of the time zone differences. I mean the West Region can't have its first game tip off at 12pm EST because that would make it 9am PST. Given that the NCAA Tournament is structured so 1 team doesn't have an "unfair competitive" rest period for the next round's game, I am assuming that would still continue in the new format too.
