That has been my point. It can't increase because it has too much dead
weight holding it down. As far as the ACC's lifeline goes, it will be around until June 30, 2036 because of the GOR. Even if at least 8 schools want to leave the ACC early, they won't pull the trigger because the schools won't want to miss out on earning all that money from the new conference's TV deals and the new conference won't want to pay the ACC that money. Plus, it is unlikely the ACC will let those schools leave the conference and take their media rights with them because the ACC will have no problem finding replacement schools (i.e. UConn, UMass, etc.) to continue as a conference and keep their automatic bids to the various NCAA tournaments.
