I haven't seen many VT softball games, but

did watch a good part of today's game. Taking 3 of 4 games is nice and a positive trip for VT. What was frustrating today was how they lost. Those two plays where Duke had runners caught in rundowns between 1st and 2nd have to be handled much better next time. Those were simply mental errors. I'm not a softball coach and I'm sure there was good reasoning, but I did find myself wondering why VT would pitch to Duke's hottest hitter, as the announcer stated, with two out and 1st base open. It's easy to play armchair quarterback, but just did not have a good feeling about pitching to that batter. Taking 3 of 4 from Duke is definitely a good trip. Agree, VT should have and needs to find ways to sweep teams they should beat.
