But the offense did do enough because VT had the lead going


into BC's final drive. If the defense had done its job and prevented BC from scoring a TD with 0:11 to go in the game, then VT would have won the game and fans would have praised how the defense won the game for VT. If you really want to get technical, then it would be fair to say that defense is blamed for the lost because it allow BC to score 2 TDs in 2 minutes late in the 4th Quarter with the first TD at 2:11.
