Late game strategy?
I keep wondering why coaches elect to run the clock down and try to find a good shot with less than 10 seconds on the shot clock when there is still two or three minutes left in the game and they are only ahead by 5 points or less. It just seems that a team should continue to run its offense while looking for a good shot. Too many of these situations result in a team throwing up some terrible shot with too much time still to go. Iowa State did exactly this last night, and it helped them lose their lead and the game. It occurs on the men's side as well.
