To this day I’m kidded and teased it was my fault Enter Sandman was played. I was on the field pulling the tarp and didn’t have a radio when they were calling for song requests. Rumor I heard was someone from VT suggested it, realizing a non Hokie wouldn’t know the difference. After about 15-20 seconds and the VT dugout was getting super hype, someone said turn it off, turn it off.

Hence forth Enter Sandman has been banned from the softball stadium, along with “Eye of the Tiger” and “Sweet Home Alabama” for obvious reasons, lol. Now men’s basketball at UT still uses Enter Sandman and I grin and chuckle every time it’s played, lol.
