L4/L5 here when I was 39. Could tell when I awoke from surgery it was fixed

So it effectively fixed me for about 8 years and I had instant good results, but as others have pointed out I have 2 weeks of only walking allowed and weeks after that until I could resume normal activity. This was a simple trim away of the herniated portion of the affected disc. It finally came back 7 to 8 years later, and was joined by its next door neighbor L5/S1, but I have been living with it without surgery thus far; the neurosurgeon told me that it will be a much bigger deal to fix the next time around (fusion of vertebrae, rods, etc).
