We are in year 3 (basically because of last year postponement) of ACC
level commitment to baseball. I mean real commitment.......Szefc's first year is not even going to count from an eval standpoint. What is your definition of a winner? This year's record may be tougher to gauge as we will play 36 conference games to the normal 30. This is a big difference when comparing to any other year. Keep in mind, we were 16-14 in the league the year we hosted a regional in 2013. The league will be a real grind this year........A real grind. Everyone is pretty good. Everyone.....Everything is better from when Szefc and company started here. Attendance is way up, interest in the program is way up, and judging from this post, expectations are up. That is all measured in the eval of a program. Statewide interest in kids playing here is way up......I can also guarantee this......Whit is not even remotely thinking about Szefc's job situation. Not close......If we don't finish with a decent record this year, and then next year we don't improve, that may start to enter the picture as we will be confronted with contract status time. However, Whit's hires will be given a pretty long leash. Most are still surprised Szefc came here in the first place, but now we have some opportunities to compete and build a winning program. We have six freshmen playing a lot and hopefully we add our most complete player, Biddison, back sometime soon. Our facilities are becoming as good as any in the league, and more change coming later this year.......That wasn't the case three years ago......
