Good luck coming up with 2 divisions where all 14 schools would be happy
and the ACC can eliminate the need for any protected cross-division games. FWIW even after the Big Ten decided to realign from the Leaders/Legends divisions to the East/West divisions it still had 1 protected cross-division game (Indiana-Purdue).
Would UVA be willing to give up its annual game with UNC? Would VT be wiling to give up its annual game against Miami? Would Clemson be willing to give up its annual game against FSU? These will be the types of questions asked as everyone sits down at the table to try to come up with how the new divisions look. Depending on how things shake out, would Hokie fans be happy if VT and UVA end up in opposite divisions and the ACC decides to eliminate the protected cross-division game?
