I have a theory about empty stadiums.
Even before Covid: When people turn on a game and see tons of empty seats they subliminally say to themselves, "Oh. maybe this is a game I shouldn't be watching either."
Now if this is a reason ratings for all sports are down then IIWII. But if there is more to it than that--like some of the reasons we mentioned, then maybe sports has hit its peak.
I apply this to stadium expansions as well. Build it (bigger) and they will come, might be a bad look if they don't come in the future. I'd rather have a packed house every night and people competing for seats than to build a stadium too large and the seats aren't coveted. Cameron Indoor is of course an extreme example of this.
