However, trying to maintain shooting form with an injured ankle has to be difficult.

I coached a girl in Lacrosse that injured her knee. She could play but she couldn't plant to shoot to safe her life. Sometimes "playable" injuries can be the most discouraging to players. They don't even realize they are altering their shot or movements to compensate.
