For a tournament size of ACC, less than 8, I'm right with you

Makes sense that top seeds earn bye in a 8-team bracket- for tournament efficiency.

For 16-team brackets with teams between 12-16, the randomness is actually good because the top teams get some opportunities to earn bonus points, especially where they seed the top 8 and fill in the remaining 4-6 wrestlers.
